CONDITION:
Looks like new, C-8. Has been run by one owner who kept nice care of the set. There is a 1/16" or so scratch in the roof of the combo car, pictured. It looks perhaps painted over by the factory which suggests it might be a factory scratch.  With boxes, set box, and shipping box. Can provide a copy of instructions. Check out all of the pictures--in the listing, which are enlargeable, and then SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE MANY MORE!!

Some History
The Chicago & Alton Railroad was a pioneer in luxury passenger service. After the turn of the twentieth century, the railroad's premier run between Chicago and St. Louis was named the Alton Limited, but was often referred to as the "red train" because of its trademark livery. In 1924, the C & A updated the Alton Limited: A fast, Pacific-type locomotive pulled a brand new set of Pullman heavyweight cars, all painted in matching shades of maroon and red. From its debut at Chicago's (then under-construction) Union Station, the "new" Alton Limited was given the title "Handsomest Train in the World." The American Flyer Alton Limited set features an all-new scale-sized Pacific type locomotive and matching all-new heavyweight passenger cars.

If there is a problem, such as an error in description or condition, we accept returns within 30 days.
