You are bidding on an interesting American Flyer COMPLETE set from 1958. It is a neat set featuring a great die cast steam engine and 13 freight cars. It is all here. it is the longest catalogued set ever released by American Flyer. Overall, the individual boxes are some of the nicer ones.
This is ALOT of vintage train for the money, and an item you will be proud of. Or perhaps you have an American Flyer collector.

Here is a detailed breakdown of each item for your consideration:
24060 Yard King Special Set Box
Box is all here and shows some age related discoloration (as most do). A little bit of edge fray, one spot in particular as pictured. Does show wear, but it is all here.
The 21145 Nickel Plate Road 0-8-0 Steam Switcher, 4 position reverse in CAB version
Clean. The numbers are in great shape. Cosmetically really nice--good paint with very light wear. The 0-8-0
die cast steam engine and tender have been serviced and tested, and it runs well, smokes, choochoos. Has the rear-mounted two position reverse unit with two prong connection.
The tender looks nice as well. The Nickle Plate logos are in good shape, but the AFL lettering has some rubbing. Please look at the pictures--they show it all.

THE LOCOMOTIVE BOX shows some wear, but it is all here. The stamping is still good and legible. Inside is still intact.
There is no formal tender box, but the cardboard wrapper fits it perfectly.
All of the cars below are KNUCKLE COUPLER and have their original boxes.
24003 Santa Fe Boxcar ATSF
The car looks great. SHARP printing and good complete decals. C7+
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. The tongue is missing on the endflap. Box has some spots.
24106 Pennsylvania Gondola
Clean and complete. C7+
The BOX has a torn endflap with no tongue. Printing is good on the flap. The rest of the box looks nice and is structurally good.
24109 Chesapeake & Ohio Gondola w/ Silver Cardboard Pipes
The car looks great. Nice printing and numbering. All four steps. with the silver cardboard pipes. C7+
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. One flap has a soft tongue. has a very small tear on one side. Still, a nice box. P6
24113 Delaware & Hudson Gondola with 5 Cannister Load
The car looks great. SHARP printing and numbering. All five cannisters looks clean with sharp printing. C7+
The BOX is complete with really good stamping on one end. Does have some softenss and flapwear. P7
24216 Union Pacific Hopper #1
Sharp. Super clean. Strongest printing I have seen on this car. All four steps. Great paint as well. C8
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. Does have a little bit of handling wear, but nicer than most.
Oil spot on side. P6+/P7

24309 Gulf Tank Car # 1
Plastic frame with all steps. The car looks great. SHARP printing and numbering. Good complete decals. C7+
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. Some spots on box. Really good print. A crisp box. P7
24309 Gulf Tank Car # 2
Plastic frame version. Two steps have a small corner break with a very small corner piece missing (pictured). The car looks great. SHARP printing and numbering. Good complete decals. C6+ (due to steps)
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. Does have a wear or oil line on the flap if you look at the line near the 0.
24403 Illinois Central Refrigerator Car (Reefer) IC
The car looks great. Strong printing. C7+
The BOX is complete with good stamping on one end. The end flap is missing the tongue. Has some spots.
24516 New Haven diecast Flat Car with Lumber load #1
The diecast flatcar looks great. Sharp paint, printing and numbering. Wood load is original, and shows some handling wear. All steps. With complete brakewheel. C7+
The BOX is super nice, crisp, structurally strong.

The diecast flatcar looks great. Sharp paint, printing and numbering. Wood load is original, and shows some handling wear. All steps. The brakewheel hole on the end o the flat has chipped, so it does it does not hold the brakewhhel, though it IS present. C6+

nice. Good print. Some flapwear and flap softness. There is a spot on the endflap face.

24539 New Haven Flat with Pipes
The car looks great. Strong printing and numbering. Good intact brakewheel. All four steps. All stakes. C7+/C8
The BOX is really nice--complete with good stamping on one end. Does have some softenss and wear. P7
24603 Caboose
The car is very clean.
Has all four steps. Good printing. The roof has a scratch and a little bit of a stress mark.
The BOX is in good shape, with some tape on the flap tongue. Good printing.
Track
We did not receive track with the set othe than what is below. If you require a lock on and a set of curved track, just let us know!
